Latest Updates!

Ok... finally getting around to post about this years 'highlite', which will be a fun competition.

This year on Saturday night (which is also potluck night) we will be featuring a Vintage Theme.

This is of course optional, but if you decide to join in, all you need to do is reach into your drawers (dresser drawers that is) and pull out some of your old vintage clothing! Don't have any? No problem... head to your grandma's closet, thrift shop or sew your own (deals on ebay as well).

Here is a collage of inspirational photos Kate has kindly put together...

PS. Don't forget embroidered hankies for ladies, and big white square hankerchiefs for the men.

We will have some fun great prizes! This will be a secret ballot vote for the following categories:

1. Most classic vintage man
2. Most classic vintage lady
3. Overall most classic vintage couple
4. Most over the top vintage lady or man
5. Draw prize (best prize) for all vintage participants

If you would like to donate a prize, that would be great too! Let me know.

As a sample, here is Kate who modelled a few items, such as a vintage apon and hair bow thingie to give you an idea. (note the vaccum is just an extra prop! LOL... mind you, you could get a few extra points for bringing a vacuum to the TearUp!)

We'll also have some 'vintage' must from the 1940's and 1950's to help inspire everyone.

Jan 2/08: Booking for the TearUp is now well under way. We now have 19 trailers on the list (39 camping enthusiasts). I am also in the middle of processing videos for previous years TearUp's which will be on the new Videos page.

Oct 31/07: Well the TearUp is certainly booking up quickly this season! We have 10 trailers already on the list.

Oct 24/07: Plans are well underway for the 2008 TearUp! The official dates are June 13-16, 2008, but as in the past, some campers are likely to arrive a day or two early, or stay longer than the official dates. I will be posting the range of site to book shortly. Last year everyone was quite pleased with the location of sites we had chosen, so we will like be looking at the sites in the same area. I'll post this information once I have the rest of the site prepared for the 2008 TearUp.

Sep 15/07: The unofficial Fall TearDown was once again held at Nick's Lake State Park on September 7-9 in 'B' Loop, the weekend after Labour Day in conjunction with the Tearjerkers (headed by Ray Finntec). Unfortunately we didn't have the best of weather, but everyone still enjoyed this event. I believe we had 7 or 8 trailers, about 16 to 18 campers in all.

June 26/07: The 2007 TearUp was a great success! Great weather, great new and old friends and some fantastic food to boot!

Photos of the 2007 TearUp are now available HERE.
